MASKED BEAUTY
How to stay feminine and pretty under our masks? Which ares to value, which make-up products to choose and how to use them? Under the mask, breathing creates a warm and humid environment that can lead to an accumulation of sweat and sebum which can suffocate the skin. The friction of the mask on the nose, chin and cheeks can also create irritations, rashes, or even itching and weakening of the skin barrier.
Here are some tips from the Mavala beauty experts for how to look after your skin whilst wearing a mask:
Step 1: Face Hydration
Face hydration is a fundamental step in skincare, the stakes are all the more important with the wearing of the mask. Morning or evening, you can count on deep hydration with ultra-moisturising formulas that are protective and dermal soothing. In the evening, do not hesitate to apply sleeping masks to infuse the skin with moisture during the night. During the day, use ultra-moisturising and ultra-fine micro-mists as soon as you take off the mask at home.

Step 2: The Complexion
As there are few visible areas under the mask, there is no need to apply foundation which can run or fade with moisture and friction from the mask. However, if you can’t do without foundation, choose a fluid that is water resistant and has a light texture. Rather than a glowy finish, favour satin or even matt textures and finish with a touch of light powder to unify and matify the complexion, On the eye contour, of course, apply a think layer of concealer to ensure an even result.

Step 3: The Eyes
Wearing a mask means that our eyes are the most visible part of our faces. We can give free reign to our imagination and our cravings for colour. Powder, cream, eye liner… each persons preference is determined by how they look. We therefore must opt for comfortable, water-resistant eye shadows that have long lasting hold. Make sure you also use a base to fix make-up and prolong its hold, while also protecting the sensitive skin around the eyes.
The less adventurous of us may opt for the eye pencil which is practical and easy to apply and ideal for a day time look. It’s creamy texture, which can be worked on with the finger to manage intensity also allows you to achieve a smokey eye. To give your eyes a captivating depth and radiance, opt for a fine line of eye liner or an extra smooth Khol pencil for a smokey eye effect.
Finish with a protective mascara to give volume and length to the lashes. Choose waterproof so it resists water and heat. However, if you have combination skin, go against waterproof as it may make contact with sebum and deposit on the eye lids.

Step 4: The Lips
Avoid lipstick and glossy lips, which can stick to the mask, stain and even worse, smudge. On our (hidden) lips, apply a protective and repairing lip balm that will prevent the dryness caused by wearing the mask.
