Feet Care Tips with Mavala
With sandal weather well and truly upon us, it’s time to get those tootsies preened and pampered. Feet are often ‘locked up’ for months, hiding in our winter boots. This results in dry skin, thickened corns and damaged nails.
For those unable to squeeze regular salon pedicures into a busy schedule. They shouldn’t be afraid to try it at home! Our Nail Expert, Lynn Mason, has shared her top tips and product picks for a Mavala Pedi Prescription.
Lynn says “I would always recommend giving your feet a pedicure treatment once a month. Tit to maintain good health to the feet while not overloading them with treatment. Not only will a pedicure make your feet look better by exfoliating away dead skin cells and softening the cuticles, but it will also help with circulation. Something we all need to work on!”
Tip: “During warmer weather when we wear sandals more frequently, it’s even more important to keep feet moisturised. This is due to the fact that the air around our feet can be very drying and, if not moisturised, the skin will start to dry and crack”
Try: Mavala Hydro-Repairing Foot Care £18.20
With a distinct, fresh minty fragrance, this intensive formula contains a high concentration of urea. This has highly moisturising and keratolytic properties. With apricot pulp extract paired with a pro-vitamin A and hydro-regulated complex, this power product immediately hydrates the skin. This fights against any abnormal thickness of the corneous layer of the feet.
Tip: “ A base coat must always be used to not only protect the nails from pigment that causes discoloration. However, also to act as a primer to make the polish last longer. This is even more important on the toes as we tend to wear darker colours, keeping it on for long,. This makes the risk of discoloration greater”
Try: Mavala Barrier Base Coat £20
This Base Coat has an aqueous formula which provides the nail plate with moisturising and restricting active ingredients from the Proflex complex: calcium, silk amino acids and keratin. The Barrier-Base Coat forms a protective barrier between the nail plate and nail colour. Which not only protects but improved the adherence of nail polish.
But what about colour?
The beauty of a pedicure in summer is that the choice of colours is endless. From sheer pinks, bold metallics or bright pops of primary shades. Toes can be looking great in open-toe footwear or on the beach!
